It all began in December of 2007 when Emmanuel Latosa, a common friend invited Dexter and Karen for a dinner at Max's Restaurant-Gateway Mall (Manila) as he was leaving abroad to work. This was a dinner for four -Emmanuel together with his ex-GF but now his wife Beth, and then Karen & Dexter. This was the first time Dexter and Karen met each other given the fact that they were both living in Narra, Palawan. Though they attended different schools in secondary but the schools were built just opposite each other and they had lots of common friends. Even, Dexter's Tita (Analy) is a godmother of Karen and is considered a family friend on both sides.
Dexter was immediately drawn to Karen with his big smile and easy going personality. He thought Karen was perfect! But Dexter was too nervous to go up and talk to her though, so he just admired her secretly. After more than two years, out of nowhere, though they had never talked again, they were surprised upon learning that they were both working in Singapore.
